The postings for the Texas All-State teams came out a few weeks ago. I was surprised to see there were 30 guys on THE FIRST STRING! Back in our class's time, there were 11, plus sometimes a kicker for extra points or punting. Seems now we have Offense; Defense; Wide End; Nose Guard; ad nauseum. Seems to me (jealousy showing) that kinda dilutes the status. Ah, well. Gotta accept progress.
